Boma Dining Beneath the Stars
The best way to dine on an African Safari is without doubt the Boma Dinner. “Boma” in Africa refers to a livestock enclosure, as well as an area associated with community decision-making.
On safari, it refers to an inviting and intimate enclosed area with a roaring fireplace built into the earth, where people gather under the open starlit sky at the end of a day out in the bush. Different lodges use it for various occasions including cooking a sumptuous barbecued meat buffet here (referred to as a “braai”), serving dinner from the kitchen to guests seated at tables in the boma and energetic dance performances as well as interactive drumming sessions to entertain the lodge’s guests.
