Caving In Volcanoes

In the heart of the forested Volcanoes National Park, is an underground cave formed by volcanic activity around the Virunga Volcanoes. The Musanze caves are located at the foothills and its geological properties can be explored by means of walkways, trails and stairs.

The extensive arch-like entrance of the cave leads to an interior that hosts a bat colony of generous size. Where the roof has collapsed in parts over the years, entering sunlight forms beams of light columns, creating a mystical atmosphere and impressive photographs.
