Set in the pristine 75 000 hectare Madikwe Game Reserve in South Africa’s North West Province, lies Jamala Madikwe – the ideal place for the ultimate safari.
With facilities for a maximum of 10 guests, exclusivity is a hallmark of this very special property. There are five freestanding luxurious villas on the property, with wonderful views of the waterhole and open savanna. Each villa has its own lounge with fireplace, a dining area, a walk-in dressing room, a freestanding bath, a shower and toilet, a king size extra length bed, complimentary minibar, coffee and tea facilities and air conditioning. Outdoor facilities include individual rim-flow pools and salas, expansive wooden decks and private outdoor showers. The main building facilities include a fully equipped gym, hot tub, spa, bar and raised watch tower overlooking the main swimming pool and waterhole.

Morukuru Owner’s House is located in a private concession in the south-eastern corner of the Madikwe Game Reserve in South Africa’s North West Province. Madikwe is a 75 000 hectare Big 5 non-malaria reserve, just 4 hours from Johannesburg. Here you can satisfy your craving for exclusivity, while still enjoying some of southern Africa’s most productive wildlife interactions in the company of specialist guides.
This ultra luxurious home is tucked under the leafy canopy of an ancient Morukuru tree (Tamboti Tree), on the banks of the Marico River. It is available on an exclusive-use basis so there are never any other guests besides you and those you choose to accompany you. It comes with your own dedicated team of staff, including your own private guide, tracker, host, butler, chef and housekeeping staff. The house, which is ideal for honeymooners, couples or a small family, has two huge en-suite bedrooms and a choice of shared spaces. Whether reclining together by your infinity pool, or alone in your private elevated sala, or just lying in bed with the doors wide open, the combination of dappled shade and the sound of nature is deeply restorative. The house includes a private 14 m long pool, a wine cellar, a tree top sala, a large outdoor deck, a boma, an outdoor bath and river front location.

The malaria-free Madikwe is one of South Africa’s largest Big 5 game reserves.

There is a strict check-in time (from 14:00) and check-out time (latest 11:00 hrs). There is no communal space which can accommodate guests that arrive early or depart late.

Bordering Botswana in South Africa’s North West Province, the lesser-known Madikwe Game Reserve is the fifth largest reserve in South Africa. It is home to a wild dog reserve, abundant wildlife including the world-renowned Big Five and over 300 bird species such as vulture, ostrich and the large kori bustard. The landscape is characterised by vast grasslands, woodlands, and the rugged Tshwene Tshwene hills sheltering a host of wildlife.
