The 360 km2 (140 sq mile) wildlife conservancy is situated on the equator, west of Nanyuki between the foothills of the Aberdares and Mount Kenya. The conservancy serves to protect wildlife and provides a sanctuary for great apes.
Ol Pejeta boasts the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa. It is also home to the last two remaining northern white rhinos in the world. The Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary is situated in the conservancy and provides a haven for orphaned, abandoned and rescued chimpanzees. The sanctuary is the only place in Kenya where these great apes can be seen.
The conservancy plays host to the “Big Five” making it an ideal safari destination. Through its community development programme, Ol Pejeta provides funding to surrounding communities to aid health, education, water and infrastructure projects.
Embrace the awe-inspiring natural beauty of your surroundings, and set the stage for a visit you won’t soon forget.
