Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti

A luxurious retreat within an unspoiled wilderness, the Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti is set in the centre of Africa’s best-known wildlife sanctuary, in Tanzania. With an active watering hole as its focal point, guests need not even leave the lodge to enjoy up-close encounters with some of the Serengeti’s greatest creatures.

All 77 rooms, including 12 suites with plunge pools and 5 free-standing villas with infinity pools, offer an intimate connection with nature through open-air terraces that look out to the expansive plains. With elevated walkways and a choice of spacious, luxury accommodations, the lodge is particularly well-suited for first-time safari travellers, families, extended stays and groups. Other facilities include a Fitness Centre, Games Room and a Library.

Why we like it here

Lounge at the free-form, infinity-edge pool, while watching elephants gather to drink at the watering hole.

The Lodge’s Discovery Centre details the stunning wildlife and culture of the Serengeti and allows guests to engage through a number of interactive displays, lectures, documentary screenings and photography exhibitions.

For younger guests, endless fun is offered through the creative and engaging Mini Maasai Programme at the Kijana Club.

Several dining venues include Kula’s (an all-day restaurant with buffet), Maji Bar (an all-day lounge overlooking the infinity pool and Serengeti Plains beyond) and Boma Grill (where African-grilled specialties are complemented by performances of the traditional Maasai dance).

An exclusive Wine Cellar offers specially paired dinners and wine tastings.

After long days of travel and hot, dusty game drives, the Serengeti Kani Spa restores and rehydrates with massage and skin care, utilising indigenous plants and minerals from the organic Terres d’Afrique product range. Six free-standing couple’s treatment pavilions, plus a yoga pavilion, open to sweeping views of the Serengeti, with en-suite changing areas including private steam rooms.
