Chundu Island

Chundu Island is a private oasis where nothing else seems to exist but the beauty of Zimbabwe’s natural habitat. Located 21 km upstream from the Victoria Falls, Chundu Island is 1.4 km of raw, natural beauty, culminating in a seasonal white soft sandy beach on the western tip of the island. Think “Seychelles meets Zambezi”, with eight spacious palm thatched en-suite rooms nestled beneath magnificent riverine trees. Each suite has its own private deck and perfect views overlooking the mighty Zambezi River and Zambezi National Park.

The range of activities offered reflects the prime location and the dedicated, knowledgeable staff on-hand. The best of both worlds are on offer here, with a combination of water activities and wildlife. Enjoy the privilege of barefoot island living, canoeing on the river, fishing, birding, game drives and walks, watching hippos and elephants come down to drink on the opposite bank, and stunning sunsets. Chundu provides the perfect foil to the bustling town’s excitement.
