Mbali Mbali Katavi
Mbali Mbali Katavi is one of five beautiful lodges in Tanzania under the Mbali Mbali umbrella. “Mbali Mbali” translates to “Far, Far Away” in Swahili and its lodges transport you to some incredibly diverse ecological areas – to a wilderness unparalleled.
The lodge lies in the centre of Katavi National Park, and offers guests an exciting bush experience with breathtaking views over the vast plains of Katisunga. Here guests can experience the ultimate authentic safari, get close to the densest herds of hippos and crocodiles in Tanzania, or simply revel in the large diversity of bird life in this vast area. Game drives are offered twice a day with an optional night game drive.
Accommodation consists of 2 Twin Tents and 6 Double Tents. All eight rooms were constructed for exclusivity, with complete furnishings including writing desks, fine linen and en-suite facilities. Designed specifically for subtlety, the lodge is well frequented by wildlife that makes for spectacular viewing. The main deck houses a swimming pool, lounge and dining facilities to complement the breathtaking views of the Katisunga Plains.

Game viewing is exceptionally rewarding at Katavi due to the sheer abundance of wildlife.
The flotillas of pelican are a special sight.
The lodge has been designed to blend in with its surroundings to avoid distracting from the beauty of Katavi, and herds of animals can be seen right from your tent.
The main deck area was recently rebuilt, which included removing the old pool, adding new stair cases leading to the lounge and the dining areas, and new furniture in the entire main area. All rooms received new thatch roofs and decks, floors were sanded down and finished. This was complimented by new sofas and some new furniture pieces in the rooms.

The two daily game drives or the full-day game drive are on a shared basis. A private vehicle is available at an extra cost.
